Frequently asked questions

Yes — every tool on AIXTools is 100% free, no account, no watermarks, no hidden limits.

No. AIXTools runs entirely in your browser. Open a tool and start using it immediately.

The vast majority of tools (background removal, compression, conversion, magic eraser, video processing) run locally in your browser and never leave your device. The AI Assistant, OCR, and Image Upscaler send data to Google Gemini to compute results — nothing is stored on our servers.

Yes. The interface is fully responsive and the in-browser tools work on modern mobile browsers.

The interface is in English, and the Assistant and OCR support many languages including Arabic and English out of the box.

Smart Assistant (AI Chat)

Smart Assistant (AI Chat)

Which model powers the Assistant?+

AIXTools's Assistant is powered by Google Gemini (gemini-flash-lite-latest) for fast, high-quality answers.

Can I upload images or files to the Assistant?+

Yes — attach an image or a document and ask the Assistant to describe it, summarize it, or answer questions about its contents.

How do I clear the conversation?+

Click the trash icon in the composer. On the homepage, sending a new message automatically starts a fresh single-turn conversation.

Video Downloader

Video Downloader

Which platforms are supported?+

YouTube, TikTok, Instagram (Reels, Stories, Posts), Facebook, X/Twitter, and Snapchat.

Can I download private videos?+

No. AIXTools only works with public content. We don't support downloading from private accounts or paid content.

What formats can I download?+

MP4 (up to 4K when available), MP3 audio-only, and image posts as JPG/PNG.

Do you store the downloaded videos?+

No. AIXTools never keeps a copy — the links point straight to the original media source.

Background Remover (Image & Video)

Background Remover (Image & Video)

Which model removes the background on images?+

AIXTools uses briaai/RMBG-2.0 as the primary engine, remove.bg as a fallback, and briaai/RMBG-1.4 as a final safety net.

How does video background removal work?+

AIXTools tries MODNet in the browser first, then RMBG-1.4, and finally MediaPipe Selfie Segmentation — all running locally.

What's the output format?+

Images export as transparent PNG. Videos export as transparent WebM (best for editors) or MP4.

Magic Eraser (Image & Video)

Magic Eraser (Image & Video)

How does the Magic Eraser rebuild pixels?+

For images, AIXTools uses Google Gemini 2.5 Flash Image inpainting for high-quality results, with a local pyramid-inpainting fallback. For video, a local frame-by-frame pyramid inpainting is used to keep everything private.

Can it auto-detect watermarks in videos?+

Yes — AIXTools can detect static watermarks (like TikTok or Gemini watermarks) and erase them automatically.

Can I control the brush?+

Yes. You can adjust brush size and hardness (edge softness) for precise or feathered erasing.

Compress, Convert, OCR, Upscaler

Compress, Convert, OCR, Upscaler

Is there a file-size limit for compression or conversion?+

No hard limit — everything runs locally through WebAssembly and FFmpeg, so it depends only on your device's memory.

Which conversions are supported?+

PNG ↔ JPG ↔ WebP, images → PDF, PDF → images, PDF → Word, MP4 → MP3, MP4 ↔ WebM, WAV ↔ MP3, and more.

What powers OCR?+

AIXTools uses Google Gemini's multimodal vision to extract text from any image — including handwriting and Arabic script.

What does the Image Upscaler do?+

It enhances resolution 2x, 3x, or 4x using Gemini 2.5 Flash Image, restoring detail rather than just stretching pixels.
